Philip Kindred Dick (December 16, 1928 – March 2, 1982) was an American science fiction writer. He lived most of his life in California, where most of his fiction is set, either literally or by displacing sf protocols into a nightmare of the Pacific Rim.

He bagen his career with short magazine fiction "Beyond lies the Wub" was the first in 1952.

I read Dick in the late 1970s and I remember thinking, what sort of person was writing these stories? I saw a couple of the films but it wasn't till "Minority Report" I realised that Philip K Dick really was paranoid.
