Now Adams's widow, Jane Belson, has given her approval to bring back the hapless Arthur Dent in a new book entitled And Another Thing...Eoin Colfer, 43, is best known for the best-selling Artemis Fowl novels. British actor Tim Roth is starring in an adaptation of the award-winning children's novel Skellig. The Oscar nominee heads a cast which includes Kelly MacDonald and John Simm in the film based on David Almond's 1998 book. Roth will take the title role as the part-owl, part-angel Skellig who is discovered in a ramshackle shed.

MacDonald, who received an Oscar nomination this year for No Country for Old Men, will play Michael's mother, while Life on Mars' Simm will play his dad. Skellig tells the story of a young boy who discovers the strange creature after moving house and nourishes him back to health, while his baby sister is gravely ill in hospital. Full BBC story

Guillermo Del Toro - excliting news. Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has signed a four-picture deal with film studio Universal that will keep him occupied for the next decade. The Hellboy director will remake Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Frankenstein and Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. According to Variety, though, the deal will probably begin with a film of the Charles Dickens-inspired novel Drood. Before that, however, del Toro has to direct two films based on The Hobbit and other works by JRR Tolkien. Produced by New Line and MGM, the Lord of the Rings prequels will be del Toro's main priority for the next four years Full BBC story
